There’s a Devonian saying which goes ”Oak before Ash, prepare for a splash. Ash before Oak, prepare for a soak”. Well judging by the number of Oaks in full leaf at the moment and the twiggy Ash trees, we could be in for a good summer.

I was just wandering back from lunch at our local when spotted these Scarlet elf cup’s in the hedgerow. Extraordinary colour on such a grey day, at first I thought they were bits of plastic! Will return to photograph them again soon.
